Russian weaponry is a common staple of Indian Army.

In a tragic accident in Malangpora, Awantipora of Jammu & Kashmir’s Pulwama district, two personnel of the Indian Air Force lost their lives while two others were injured on Thursday after the vehicle carrying them met with a road accident.

IANS reported that one among the killed IAF officers was a Squadron Leader. The two deceased IAF official have been identified as Squadron Leader Rakesh Pandey and Corporal Ajay Kumar, ANI reported.

Sourced told a news agency that the IAF personnel were travelling in a Scorpio car when it hit a pillar adding that one among the deceased was a Squadron leader. IAF has an operational base in Awantipora. The Air Force will conduct an inquiry.

Allthough the incident was definitely an accident, this comes a week after the Banihal blast, that is considered as a dry run for a future terror attack on army personnel.
