Civils Services topper Shah Faesal who resigned from the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) launched his new political outfit, Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement in Srinagar.
Shah is known as the first ever person from J&K to top the Civil Service examination and resigned nearly two months ago “to protest the unabated killings in Kashmir and absence of any credible political initiative from the Union government”.
The outfit was joined by the former JNU Students’ Union Vice-President Shehla Rashid who also attended the event. Faesal also commented while announcing his outfit that he deeply admired the Pakistan PM Imran Khan and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
In a document pertaining to the vision for the political outfit, it was written that the outfit would pursue “peaceful resolution of the Kashmir problem as per the will and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir” The document also said that the outfit would protect the special status given to J&K by the Constitution.
