Virat and Bumrah return to the team

The Indian team has been announced for the T20 and one-day series against Australia. In the Indian T20 team, new faces have been included. Leg-spinner Mayank Markande has also made his way to the team. Captain Virat was rested during the last two ODIs and three-match T20 series against New Zealand, and he has now returned to the team. Fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah has also returned to the team who was also rested. India has to play two Twenty20 and five-match ODI series against Australia. The T20 series will start from February 24 while the one-day series starts from March 2.

Fast bowler Siddharth Kaul has been included in the Indian squad for the first two ODIs. Indian opener Lokesh Rahul, who is battling poor form, has been given a place in the ODI team against Australia. Rahul did well against England bowlers. Vijay Shankar has been rewarded for his good performance in New Zealand and he has paved his way into the ODI and Twenty20 team. Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has not been given a chance in the ODI team. Rishabh Pant has been successful in replacing the team and is part of the ODI and T20 team.

Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been rested for the first two ODIs and he has been included in the team for the last three one-dayers. Indian fast bowler Umesh Yadav is not part of the ODI team but he has been included in the T20 team. Kuldeep Yadav has been included in the ODI team but he has been rested in two T20 matches. Siddharth Kaul will be part of the team in the first two ODIs and he will not play in the last three ODIs. Kaul has also been given a place in the T20 team. Dinesh Karthik has been given a place in the T20 team but he has no place in the ODI team.

Before the announcement of the team, there were many speculations about Khalil Ahmed and Jaydev Unadkat getting a spot, but both of them have not been given place in the team. This time the selectors has given some young players the opportunity to prove themselves. If they do well in these five ODIs then they can make their place in the World Cup team.
