IPL champions Chennai Super Kings have suffered a setback before the season. South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi will not be able to play in the tournament because of the muscle strain.
South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi has been ruled out due to a strain in the lower waist muscles during the one-day series against Sri Lanka.
South African team manager Muhammad Moosajee said that Ngidi had trouble bowling during the last ODI against Sri Lanka and he immediately had to stop. In the scan, grade II muscle strain was revealed, for which he will need four weeks of rest. After this, the rehabilitation program will run until the World Cup. He is an important part of the South African team and they will try their best to make him fit before the World Cup.
