Many gamers in India are betting on their ability to play PUBG Mobile to earn money. Cyber Security and Legal Experts say this is a violation of The Public Gambling Act of 1867. Due to betting, the country’s favourite sports cricket has faced many difficulties. Indian video gamers are betting on games like Mini Militia, Teen Patti, Dream 11, Clash of Titans, Counter-Strike, but the list is topped by PUBG Mobile.

Along with fake news, incorrect information and child pornography, Whatsapp and other social media channels are becoming the means for illegal activities such as online betting, including video games. Experts say that the Whatsapp group is being used to bet on live sports events like the Indian Premier League (IPL) and betting trends on video games are also catching up.

Interestingly, there are a large number of college students who are involved in this, some claim to earn Rs 100 to 5000 per day based on their skill level. Experts said that at first cash or incentive was exchanged in online betting, but now it is being done through cash using Google Pay and PayTM thanks to UPI wallets.

PUBG (Players Unknown’s Battlegrounds) Mobile is an online multi-player game that tops the charts on both Google and iOS. In the game, 100 players can play against each other. Each player has a virtual character that can play with the team either alone or with others. The goal in the game is to stay alive until you’re the last person alive.

Indian gamers bet on who stays alive the longest in PUBG mobile. In Gujarat, a 24-year-old college student of Gandhinagar, on condition of anonymity, said, “In the last six months, I have earned about 2,000 rupees per day by playing PUBG Mobile.”

Illegal under the gambling act:

If the player is new, then he plays without any cash. After understanding the player’s game well, he can get at least 10 rupees and up to 200 rupees for each kill. If the player wins the game then it earns up to Rs 5,000.

Any type of online or offline betting associated with cash is not allowed under the Google Pay policy, and the accounts are banned after such cases are encountered. Google has said that it has not received any complaints from the authorities on such cases.
