The general elections are close and the political parties are making all kinds of promises to woo the public. Today, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi made a big promise to the people of Andhra Pradesh. Addressing a rally in Tirupati, Congress President Rahul Gandhi said that if Congress comes to power, Andhra Pradesh will be given special status. He added no force in the world will stop him from giving special status to Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing the gathering, Rahul Gandhi spoke strongly about PM Modi. Rahul said that the Prime Minister is not an ordinary person, he is the voice of millions of people. Five years ago PM Modi had promised the citizens in a speech, that Andhra Pradesh will be given special status for ten years, but it is yet to be the case. The most important thing in politics and leadership is that of a person’s words. If there is no weight in it, then it does not make sense, he added.

Here is the current list of all states that have special state status:
Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir

He also spoke about the PM Modi shooting a film controversy during the Pulwama attacks. During the speech, he also pointed out the false promises that the current PM had given to the public of Andhra Pradesh. Promises of Rs. 15 lakhs in every person’s account, providing 2 crore jobs every year and giving the right price to the farmers, were all a lie, the COngress president added.
