Robert Vadra was on the 1st of April given anticipatory bail after submitting a personal bond of Rs 5 lakh and a surety of a similar amount. Vadra was questioned regarding suspicions of money laundering.
The Businessman with a net worth of 2.1 billion dollars bought a mansion at 12, Bryanston Square in London, which has an estimated value of 1.9 million pounds. He also has a vested interest in nine properties in London with a total value of around £12 million. All these were purchased between 2005 and 2010 when the UPA government was in power.

In February 2019, Rajasthan high court has issued summons to Vadra and his mother Maureen in relation to a 2015 case of illegal land transactions in Kolayat area of Bikaner.
Mr. Vadra claimed that he would join active politics and contest from Moradabad in UP after he is acquitted. His family was originally based in Moradabad, UP. He issued an official notice in early 2002 distancing himself from his father and brother as they had allegedly been misusing the Gandhi family’s influence for personal gain.
