The popular messenger WhatsApp will finally come to the iPad with its own app! As the website WABetaInfo reported, the WhatsApp parent company Facebook has been working for some time on an official app for the Apple tablet.

First screenshots show that the app will work both in portrait and landscape mode. It shows areas such as chats, calls and settings in a split view.

Especially in landscape mode, it is very easy to chat. The app arranges both the list of chats and the content of a chat next to each other, including the virtual keyboard for typing.

The functions in the iPad app should be largely the same as in the iPhone version of WhatsApp. For example, you will be able to make voice calls or request identification with fingerprint recognition Touch ID when opening the app. However, so far the camera tab is missing, with which you can take photos and forward them to a WhatsApp contact.

When Facebook will publish the WhatsApp version for the iPad is not known.
So far, the chat program on the iPad can only be used with third-party programs that connect to WhatsApp Web.
